Course Rationale

The purpose of this one 1 hour webinar is to provide survey firms with a better understanding of Digital Spatial File Specifications as stated in Appendix E5 – General Instructions for Surveys (Surveyor General Branch (SGB)). Attendees will gain first hand exposure to specific examples and technicalities through presentations and demonstrations (AutoCAD) by personnel of SGB’s Cadastral Survey Information group.

Course Objectives

Attendees will:

• Understand the various chapter sections of the specifications
• Understand common pitfalls and how to avoid them in the future

Presenters

Stephan Moresoli is a senior surveyor at the Surveyor General Branch (Natural Resources Canada) in Ottawa. He is both a Quebec and Canada Lands surveyor

Denis Bethelot is a graduate of the University of Sherbrooke in applied geography. He has worked for the Surveyor General Branch for 25 years. Denis is now working in Ottawa as a Senior Technologist.
